Where do your materials come from? We can all gather boxes, containers and packaging from around the home but it is also great to get your hands on reclaimed materials that are a little different from the familiar everyday items.
We recently learned about The Scrap Exchange, a fantastic nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote creativity, environmental awareness, and community through reuse.

An inspirational wonderland of reuse, The Scrap Exchange collects a huge range of materials from within a 100 mile radius of the store outlet in Durham, North Carolina. More than mere collectors and suppliers, The Scrap Exchange also runs events, galleries and workshops as they continue a 20 year tradition of supporting creative reuse within the community.
Have a look at some of their latest acquisitions:
It s exciting to imagine what these items might one day become!
Here in Australia, we have Reverse Garbage and the Reverse Art Truck. What local resources for creative reuse are available where you live? Perhaps you have something that could be donated…

Scrap Exchange is also generous with encouraging others to start a reuse center too.
