The Gift Bag that keeps on giving

Gift bags are a fantastic alternative to wrapping paper. They’re sturdy, make it easy to wrap strangely shaped gifts and best of all, people commonly re-use them over and over.

But what do you when the edges start chipping, sides drooping, creases showing and it’s clear that the bag is nearing the end of its giving days?

On MAKEDO DAY we decided it was time to give some of our longer-serving gift bags the gratitude they deserved.

We gave them new life by turning them into playful makedo puppets. You can too, using gift bags you received over the holiday season or other interesting shopping bags and found materials. Printable instructions can be downloaded here.

What other things can you make out of reclaimed gift bags? Upload your creations here.
