Soil Table

Our burst of inspiration that takes this whole “green” idea quite literally continues today with an interesting project spotted at Core77 called the Soil Table.

The Israeli designer, Ori Mishkal, explains some of the thinking behind this 2010 student project:

l wanted to design an object which suggested a way to bring nature into the living space in an intimate way… to see the ‘underground growth’ of the plants by placing them upside-down to grow.

The sensation of feeling plants on your lap, while sitting at the table, would add a unique tactile element to the already distinctive visuals presented by this quirky reuse of an old table.
