Shining a light on waste

Tim Noble and Sue Webster see the world a little differently from most. Shine a light on their sculptures and a whole new story emerges in a witty commentary on the collected items…
Self portraits are a recurring theme, as can be seen in “White Trash (with gulls)” shown above-left. This intriguing piece is comprised of the collected rubbish from six months of domestic living as they share their lives as a couple. Looking closely, you can see the gulls fighting for scraps in the foreground. This is one example from a range of works that reference various aspects of urban life, always with a cheeky humour hinted by the title.
For more of these thought-provoking pieces from Tim and Sue, there is a growing collection over at Mighty Optical Illusions. First spotted at Environmental Graffiti.
