Seeing red

The recognition of excellence is important across the international design community. Understanding why some products stand out amongst the ever growing swell that is manufactured every year helps to refine the design process, and continue on the road towards a brighter future for our global community. So for those in the know and for many consumers, seeing a red dot next to a product means that recognition has been awarded; that this product represents excellence in design across multiple criteria.

The makedo Kit for Three has been awarded an Honourable Mention in the red dot award: product design 2010. Considered amongst the most prestigious of international design competitions, an expert jury seeks out products demonstrating excellence in design, quality and innovation. Designers and companies from 57 nations entered a total of 4,252 products into the 2010 competition.

This topped off an eventful week, with makedo also featuring in the announcement of finalists for the 2010 Australian International Design Awards.   Look out for the results in June, as we rub shoulders with the likes of Bosch, Cochlear, Dyson, Electrolux, LG, Samsung and more…
