Re-use: the Interior View
Monday, November 23, 2009 at 8:00 PM
There are often moments of brilliance when the creativity and bright-eyed enthusiasm of design graduates is put on show. This is indeed true in the current exhibition put together by RMIT School of Design (TAFE) Interior Decoration + Design at Trades Hall in Melbourne.
The students, who much to our delight designed the exhibition space themselves, set a brief embracing re-use. Some might call it exhibition design for the GFC, but our eyes tell us that a tight brief can have amazing outcomes. Having seen makedo at State of Design they thought our little clips might be a fun way to put the whole thing together and what has emerged is a stunning sculptural array of geometric facets, each presenting the work of a student. We dropped in briefly today to offer Maisha as guardian to the exhibition. She looks so contemplative sitting on her wall, we just hope she puts on a smile when the opening party kicks off. Watch this space for pics from the opening.

For those in Melbourne, you can see the ID + D 09 Graduation Exhibition at Trades Hall from November 25-27, 10am-4pm.
UPDATE: See below for some more pics of the opening and from earlier preparations…
