Playtown: a makedo wrapup

Oh my, what a day! The big event in Mechelen saw parents and children immersed in all kinds of fun activities. Thanks to Evi from DAM, we are able to re-live some of the happy moments at the makedo booth.

From a collection of reclaimed materials, the children gathered their personal favourites and then sat down to begin some seriously fun making. 

The robot was the most popular thing to make. We made more than 100 robots. A dog was also a top item to makedo. Some of the children were very creative, and made 2 or 3 creations. 

The best part for many kids was that they could then take their creations home. So from a hot air ballon to a horse, from robots of all shapes and sizes to dogs by the dozen; the playful creativity of the Mechelen event will have a lasting impact on many smiling, happy faces.
