Miniature Metropolis

Installations from the intriguing mind of Peter Root are bringing new perspectives on creating art from discarded materials.
Staples, components from small manufacturing, and even potatoes form dynamic cityscapes that could have come straight out of a sci-fi blockbuster. The tilt-shift photography lends a grand scale to these dioramas, as miniature details blend into forms and spaces, suggesting possibilities into the human scale and beyond.

Peter’s methodology is a language we can understand and appreciate. In his own words:
The Art that I create is the result of experimentation and play. These experiments can involve highly repetitive and mantra-like procedures or can be simple, spontaneous responses.
