Makedo wins Good Design Award

For over fifty years, Japan’s Good Design Award has given recognition to products that have a certain edge over their contemporaries. In late August our Makedo office robot headed to Tokyo, flying the flag for reuse and playful creativity at the Good Design Expo in the second round of the Awards.

We are proud to announce that Makedo has been honoured with a 2010 Good Design Award. As the only Australian winner from over 3,000 entries, this award is particularly significant for us.
Chaired by esteemed designer Naoto Fukasawa, the judging panel values pioneering designs that do not simply attempt to resolve the users’ problems, but also guide the user in finding a solution in terms of a lifestyle for the near future.
The playful nature and message of reuse in many Makedo creations often results in an image that is comfortably haphazard - a contrast to the polished outcomes that usually grace the winner’s podium. Recognising a deeper design refinement, this award places Makedo alongside the top design firms from across the globe.
The 2010 Good Design Award now takes pride of place amongst our growing collection of accolades.
