Put on by the Museum of Toys, this annual event sees tens of thousands of playful attendees swarm into the town centre. Vehicles are banned which means children can safely play in the streets, with activities and demonstrations from leading toy companies set up at every turn.

Major sponsor of the event Ketnet is holding a competition for kids to create their own games, with the imaginative winner taking home a fantastic prize pack including a set of FreePlay Makedo.

Find out more at Speeldag (the website in Dutch; so you may need to jump onto Google Translate or track down a multilingual buddy).
If you can’t make it to downtown Mechelen on May 15, you could always pick up some makedo from our online shop and buld a playtown of your very own.
