Getting clean about Dirt

Learning about plants and growth doesn’t have to be a down and dirty affair.  Thanks to the creative minds over at Ikat Bag, an idea inspired by a visit to their local children’s museum has been refined with some delightful outcomes.

The Ikat gang have used foam and fabric to build a playful garden bed.  Apparently, the kids just can’t get enough of planting and picking their own hand-made flowers and vegies.   One observation was that this is great practice for the children during colder months, in preparation for upcoming growing seasons.

Once a furrowed garden bed has been created, the scope for planting is broad indeed.  From bright sunny flowers to carrots and strawberries, all ages can enjoy the playful creativity that ensues.

We can’t help but wonder how fertile the growth of these gardens could be with a few handfuls of makedo clips scattered amongst the construction materials…

Head over to Ikat Bag to read the full story, and hopefully become inspired to make your own.
