Emerging from the swamp...

The call went out, and the public responded. A makedo Melbourne maker meeting brought together a diverse group of people, all ready to face the challenge of populating the makedo Swamp of Fancy.
Reclaimed materials soon became flowers, robots, monsters, and creatures… emerging from the murky depths of the Swamp of Fancy there was an octopus, a family of Babushka swamp critters, a beautiful(?) princess and so much more.

The pick of the day was a creation named Annabel, a mecha-monster with resplendent ornamental comb, bulging eyes and six-wheeled locomotion. Noted by the judging panel (consisting of PJ and TJ) were the clever uses of materials as well as novel fixing methods using the makedo connectors.
A big thanks to all who participated to make this event such a success.
We love our maker meetings, and there will be more to share from the Swamp of Fancy as well as future meetups that are in the pipeline - so stay tuned for further details. Until then…
