Throughout human history, there have been brief moments when immortals walk the Earth. Figures of myth and legend; heroes of the body, the mind and of the heart… every culture from every age knows this to be true. In the 21st century, our heroes are also masters of upcycling and recycling - and when you throw playful creativity into the mix, Boxwars are truly in a league of their own.

From humble beginnings in a Melbourne backyard, Boxwars is fast becoming a global phenomenon. A group of creative minds gather together to construct elaborate costumes, vehicles, armour and weapons all out of reclaimed cardboard. They then proceed to battle with one goal in mind: total destruction.
It is truly a spectacle to behold; they simply have so much fun together. And of course, all the bits and pieces are carted off to be reused and recycled at the end of the day.
When we let makedo loose upon a world of reclaimed and upcycled materials, it was the guys at Boxwars who were among the first to grasp what the future could become. They were there to lend a hand in constructing our State of Design creations, but to see what really makes them tick -
Head down to Caulfield Park in Melbourne for BOXWARS 15: ROBOTS on December 26. For those who are not Robot enough to battle, watching from your picnic rug is a noble alternative.
What a show it promises to be. More info on the Boxwars global portal.
