Awe for some, awesome for all

Just in case the perpetual sunshine wasn’t reason enough to visit Perth, Western Australia… running up until Sunday November 29 is the Awesome International Arts Festival. A diverse collection encompassing dance, installations, sculpture, workshops, street theatre, animation and new media that is just bursting with a vivacious and infectious energy.

In one example of the response to the festival tag-line For Bright Young Things, artist Rose Skinner created Llamaland:
…a stunning explosion of colour, smells, sounds and ideas. Inspired by Lewis Carroll and Dr Seuss, this fantastical installation is nothing short of extraordinary, using found, used and recycled objects to take you on a bizarre adventure to an alternative reality where nonsense reigns free.
So pick yourself a fine berth, to see the bright sights in the city of Perth. Look up, look down… follow your feet, for toes find the trail even on city streets. To view from afar, inside your own Kasbah, fingers flicker a mouse to the snicker!
