Auckland Fringe: The World Around
Friday, February 18, 2011 at 6:59 PM
Visitors to Auckland Fringe Festival take note and mark this event down in your diary. On February 26th at Durham Street East, local artist Aaron McConchie will be building a constantly evolving sculptural installation titled The World Around.
“By creating this temporary installation I hope the people that experience the work will look at the city with fresh and more inquisitive eyes.”
Construction begins at 8am and will run through until 8pm. The entire artwork will consist of cardboard cleverly held together by makedo, and if Aaron’s past work is anything to go by, The World Around promises to be quite spectacular.
Already raring to go, Aaron has put together this nifty toolkit specially built to carry all his makedo bits and pieces.
You can follow Aaron’s progress leading up to the big event on his website, and all the important details as well as a host of other fun events can be found at Auckland Fringe 2011.
