Sculptures made from found objects and “junk” are nothing new. Many creative people have put their own spin on this form of recycled art… but few come close to the polished outcomes of Leo Sewell.

Animals, figues and cultural icons are all created out of recognisable objects Leo collects from a local garbage dump. Having grown up near the dump, his connection to this resource has been refined over several decades. He has become a master of taking plastic, wood and metal and transforming them into remarkably accurate replicas of icons from the world around us.

The materials are chosen for their color, shape, texture, durability and patina; then they are assembled using nails, bolts, and screws. Most creations are life-sized, some exaggerated, but all have an impact that will have you on the edge of your seat recycle bin.
