Imagine how your creative world would change if you could print all of the fantastical 3D things you can think up. Well, it just so happens the wonders of 3D printing can be yours to own, thanks to Make: Online and Makerbot Industries.

What is a Makerbot? It is an open source device that replicates forms fed into it from a computer. You could see the Makerbot as a little factory for your home. Learn more here.
Given the nature of the prize, this competition may be more for the designer-types amongst us. The entry process is simple - Think up something that you would like to be able to print out, design it using any 3d design program, and upload your entry to Thingiverse.
The competition closes on May 5, and there are also minor categories to cater for those less comfortable with 3d design programs. Find out more about the digital fabrication revolution at Thingiverse, and read all about the Makerbot Giveaway at Make: Online.
